Celebrating Our Mission For 100 Years
We lift our community voice to create a safe place where everyone belongs and has the opportunity to live their best life.
Community Voice
We are an organization that uses local giving to have local impact. We are focused on our vision from our grass roots beginning and envision a community where all people have the education, health, and financial stability needed to achieve their full potential. In pursuit of this vision we have raised over 100 million dollars to feed into community work that improves lives.
Everyone Belongs
Everyone should feel a sense of belonging in our community. Whether they’ve been here for decades or just a few weeks. Our community should be a place where everyone feels supported and that they have the same opportunities as everyone else. We are working on ensuring that everyone belongs by creating grant making decisions that best reflect community needs.
The Movement
United Way of Waco-McLennan County represents our community coming together. We act as a collaborator and convener to keep our community together. Now it is time to work together to actively take part in the change we all wish to see in our community. We are pioneering an approach to community change that works directly with residents to create a plan that can then be acted upon with the support of the whole community.
Child Well-Being
We are a collaborative of residents and community partners dedicated to ensuring McLennan County children ages 0-5 and their families can thrive. With support from United Way of Waco-McLennan County and under the leadership of local residents, we work together to understand the needs of area children and families, create community solutions and take action. We believe that when every child and their family can pursue and realize their aspirations, our entire community is better for it.

Your Dollars At Work

Local giving. Local impact. We raise funds on behalf of high-impact nonprofit programs vetted by our Community Investment Councils. As a funder, United Way sets a standard for data collection and diversity, equity and inclusion practices in nonprofit programming and supports our Funded Partners with trainings to build their capacity in these areas. In 2021, despite the limitations of COVID-19, our Funded Partners continued to deliver high-quality programming that resulted in impactful outcomes for the individuals they serve.

“As a United Way CIC member, I’ve had the opportunity to champion the way forward at increasing the equity in grant-making. Collectively, we strive to move the dial in a direction whereby funded programs are representative of the communities they serve.”
